Getting started

The console home shows a Getting started checklist with five steps. Each step has a Set up button that takes you to the right page, and the checklist counts how many are done.

  1. Connect a model providerOn Models, link an OpenAI, Anthropic or Azure key so agents can reach a model through the gateway.
  2. Register a tool connectionOn Connections, add the MCP or HTTP endpoints TaskGate brokers, so tool calls run under policy. See Integrations.
  3. Register an agentOn Agents, describe an agent, its purpose and the tools it may request. See Agents & identity.
  4. Publish a policyOn Policies. Until a policy set is in force the gate refuses by default. See Policies.
  5. Invite your teamOn Organisation, add the people who approve, review and own work in this organisation.

Before you start

Your organisation is set up with you when you request access. After that, everyone signs in through your organisation's identity provider: on the sign-in screen, enter your organisation's short name in the Organisation field and choose Continue to sign-in.

Why this order

Agents need a model to think and connections to act. The gate then needs a policy to decide against — with none in force, every action is refused. Inviting your team last means the people who approve held actions arrive to a working setup.

When you're done

Once all five steps are complete, the checklist disappears from the console home.
